“Peru has been nominated as the first official partner country to the continent’s leading fresh produce trade show”, which is Asia Fruit Logistica, they revealed on their website.

Will Wollbold, commercial director of the trade fair’s organizer Global Produce Events (GPE) said that he was “delighted” that Peru will by their first-ever partner country. One of the reasons for this choice is the South American country’s fast-growing recognition in the Asian markets.

“Peru has been one of the standout success stories in the global fresh produce business over the past ten years, with the value of the country’s fresh fruit and vegetable exports growing by an annual average of around 20 per cent to top some $3 billion US dollars in 2018, according to information from the Association of Agricultural Producers’ Guilds of Peru (AGAP)”, Asia Fruit Logistica said.

Since 2008 Peru has been exhibiting in Asia Fruit Logistica’s fair with a national pavilion. “As the official partner country to ASIA FRUIT LOGISTICA 2019, Peru will ramp up its Superfoods from Peru campaign at this year’s trade fair”, the fair said.

This year’s fair will take place in Hong Kong from September 4 to 6. There will be 826 exhibitors and more than 70 different countries will be participating.
