Peru was the center of attention in one of the videos posted by Konami last week. The National Team is now licensed to appear in the next edition of Pro Evolution Soccer videogame (best known simply as “PES 2019”).
The clip shows the entire Peruvian roster getting ready to start a game. This summer, they participated in the World Cup Russia 2018 after more than 30 years without getting the ticket to the tournament.
This is the first time the white and red team is authorized to be officially part of the popular franchise, with a huge fan base in the country. According to the Peruvian Soccer Federation (FPF, in Spanish), it is an opportunity to monetize as a brand, but the most important goal is connecting with gamers across the country, considering the eSports are on the rise.
The presence of Paolo Guerrero and teammates is not the only novelty. Gamers will now be able to select the Alejandro Villanueva ‘Matute’ stadium as the venue for matches. This pitch is the home of Alianza Lima. This team will be included, alongside Sporting Cristal, to be played with. Fans can now recreate the rivalry in the local league.
Inter Milan’s Legends (Esteban Cambiasso, Adriano, Álvaro Recoba and Youri Djorkaeff) are also in the game. To promote the release of “PES 2019”, the company has showed different videos and images with news, updates and options for the gamers around the world. “PES 2019” will be available on Tuesday, August 28th, for PS4, Xbox One. For PC, August 30th is the date.
