The Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion (Midis) announced that it will refurbish 755 homes in the highlands of Puno, as part of the preparations to cope with this year’s frost season in the high Andean sectors of the country.

“According to the Plan before Frost (Plan ante las Heladas) 2019-2021, and through the Mi Abrigo de Foncodes project, the Midis will transform traditional homes into ‘warm houses’, taking advantage of solar energy and thus protect health and life, especially that of seniors and children”, El Peruano explained.

The works will be executed in the districts of Capaso, Conduriri, Yungoyo, Pilcuyo, Huayrapata, Anapia, Ollaraya in the provinces of El Collao, Moho and Yunguyo, in the department of the Altiplano in more than 3,000 homes.

“The executive director of Foncodes, Hernán Eduardo Peña, announced that the works will require an investment of 11 million soles, during the launching of the Mi Abrigo Plan from Capaso district, El Collao province, in Puno”, according to El Peruano.
