(LIP-wb) -- Thousands of Peruvian women are expected to mobilize for a demonstration march "White Ribbon" (Lazo Blanco) this Sunday, November 26, to protest against domestic violence against women.  This was announced by the third vice-president of Peru's Congress, Luisa Maria Cuculiza, chairwoman and main promoter of the initiative that counts on the support of the congressional commission for women, the ministry for women, and the president, Alan Garcia.

Congresswoman Cuculiza remembered that when she was Minister for Women, she also summoned for a great march under the same purpose and more than 40,000 female participants from all social levels responded.

Protesters will gather at 8 a.m. at the Plaza Dos de Mayo in central Lima and the march will conclude in the Av. de la Peruanidad (Campo de Marte), where president Alan Garcia will deliver a direct message on this disturbing topic.

It has been coordinated that at noon all church bells will chime and firemen will sound their sirens in honor of victims and raise people's conscience and awareness.

Domestic violence has increased in the every nook and corner, the governmetn of the respective countries are not taking any firm steps to strop domestic violence against women. Everone thinks that domestic violence against women is a family affair and there is no need to interfare in this matter. This thinking has enhanced the domestic violence against women in recent yrars
