Peru's Franca beer invests $6 million in the U.S. and Europe

AJEGROUP, a Peruvian company dedicated to the manufacture, distribution and sale of beers and nonalcoholic drinks has announced the exportation and sale of its Franca beer to the United States and Europe.
The company, which has operations in Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador and Thailand, stated it would be investing between $5 and $6 million in launching its beer in the US and Europe.
Franca, a Peruvian beer endorsed by renowned chef Gaston Acurio, is expected to be sold in the US and Europe in the first semester of 2009.
"The success of the good combination between the beer and the great taste of Peruvian food has generated an increased interest on behalf of US and European distributors," said the head of Corporate Affairs for Ajegroup, Alfredo Paredes.
He explained that the $6 million being invested in the exportation of Franca were part of an $80-million project.
