In the first quarter of the year, non-traditional exports from Peru totaled $3,135 million US dollars, showing an increase of 17.6% compared to the same period of 2017.
This was indicated by the National Superintendence of Customs and Tax Administration (Sunat), who also noted that from January to March 2018 exports of the agricultural sector totaled $1,353 million US dollars, registering an increase of 25.4% compared to similar months of the year previous, informed Agap Peru last week.
According to the tax entity, grapes and mangoes were the main products of Peruvian agro exports during the first quarter of the year. These fruits also led the ranking of non-traditional exports in that period.
During this period, grape exports totaled $312 million US dollars and mangoes a total of $117 million US dollars. The increase was of 36.3% and 38.3%, respectively, according to information from Agap Peru.
These figures make grapes the main product in the ranking of agricultural exports, as well as in the non-traditional export table. Mangoes occupy second place in these lists.
