For several years the relation between Peru and China has strengthened, according to President Martín Vizcarra.

As El Peruano informed, Vizcarra explained during the ceremony of the delivery of equipment donated by China to the country for the National Armed Forces, that both nations have a positive “friendship” relation.
This donation would equal about $18 million US dollars and the equipment will improve the capabilities of the Armed Forces to face natural disasters and the national program of humanitarian demining, according to José Huerta Torres, minister of Defense.
“They will be prepared to deal with earthquakes, floods, volcanic eruptions, landslides and others”, he told El Peruano.

They also explained that among the equipment stand out special vehicles for building bridges; sand pumps for flooding; ambulances; buses; and minivans.

The Chinese ambassador in Lima, Jia Guide, also highlighted the good relations between both countries and the functionality of the donated equipment.
This donation was made under two protocols of military cooperation signed by the Ministry of Defense of Peru and the Ministry of National Defense of the People’s Republic of China, through its embassy in Lima, in November 2017.
