It was recently determined that local governments should implement home visitations to families with 12-month-old children, in order to promote child care and adequate nutrition to prevent, reduce and control anemia and chronic childhood malnutrition.
“This is established in the Technical Document: ‘Guidelines for the Implementation of Home Visits by Social Workers for the Prevention, Reduction and Control of Chronic Childhood Anemia and Malnutrition’ approved by the Ministry of Health through Ministerial Resolution N ° 078-2019 / Minsa”, according to Andina News Agency.
The municipalities will also be able to grant resources to finance home visitations to families that have children under 12 months of age and show them how to prepare adequate and nutritious food for them, as well as have them participate in campaigns about preventive medicine and health education.
The application of this technical document is of obligatory fulfillment in all the health Minsa (Health Ministry) nationwide, as well as EsSalud (social security), in the Armed Forces and the National Police of Peru.
