The revenues of the film industry in Peru will show a solid growth towards 2023, according to the Global Media Outlook 2019-2023 study prepared by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
In 2018, the amount generated was $181 million US dollars. However, the figure is expected to grow to reach $242 million by 2023; that is, an annual growth of 5.98%, you can read in Perú 21.
“Peru is one of the smallest Latin American markets, with only a few active distributors and exhibitors, but the number of screens is increasing. In 2018, the nationwide number was 661 and they would add up to 789 by 2023”, the aforementioned website said.
In addition, a new generation of Peruvian filmmakers is growing, which creates more and new possibilities for local productions and also opens new markets.
