The Peruvian Citrus Producers Association (ProCitrus) released its 2019 numbers regarding product exportations and so far, in the first eight months, 171,772 tons of these types of fruit have been exported.
Mandarin, oranges, lemon, grapefruit and tangelo show an increase of 3.59% in comparison to the same period of 2018.
Sergio del Castillo Valderrama, general manager of ProCitrus said to Fresh Plaza that this growth is due to the greater dispatches of oranges and lemon.
It was also informed that Holland is one of the main markets for Peruvian citrus fruits. This year, they have received more than 25 million kilos. China is another important market, which has imported over 11.8 million kilograms of this product from Peru in 2019.
