Cajamarca Coffee Receives Gold Medal In Germany

Coffee from the Cooperativa Agraria Cafetalera CASIL of San Ignacio, Cajamarca, was recognized for its exceptional quality by the German Federation of Coffee Roasters and was given a gold medal.

The Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism (Promperú), reported that this recognition was granted after a coffee roasting company in Germany, Schramms-Kaffeerösterei began selling the coffee of Peruvian origin, Rosa Elvita, from the Cooperativa CASIL.

In parallel, roaster-Die Rösterie from Hamburg also began to sell coffee bought from the producer Santos Acha Rivera in Peru, also from CASIL.

“Promperú recalled that the aforementioned German toasting, together with other roasters in Germany and France, were part of a mission of coffee buyers that organized the Commercial Offices of Peru Abroad (OCEX) of Germany and France with the support of Promperú”, Andina News Agency explained.

The Peruvian commission also highlighted that the German roasters have been pleased by the quality of the CASIL coffee, showing their interest in continuing with direct imports from the San Ignacio producers to their European warehouses.
