Escape Of Former Judge César Hinostroza Complicates Investigation

On Wednesday the President of the Council of Ministers, César Villanueva, announced on a press conference the details of the escape of the ex-Judge César Hinostroza to Spain.

“This was stated by the criminal lawyer Carlos Caro”, wrote Gestión. “For him, his absence will affect the process, because he is presumed to be one of the leaders of the said organization”, they explained.

Caro said that if Hinostroza had stayed in the country, the investigation could have counted on his testimony and even become a collaborator.

However, even if he is not captured, he can still be convicted, because according to Peruvian law the process against him persists, the lawyer said.

He added that the escape is a sign of the system failing and that a capture order must be issued.
