Ford Will Review More Than 900 Vehicles In Peru

The Ford brand called for a review of a total of 855 vehicles in Peru due to a possible failure in the operation of the units’ motor.

El Comercio explained that, as reported by the company Ford Peru to Indecopi, the recall is for vehicles of the EcoSport model manufactured between 2017 and 2018.
From all of the vehicles that need revision, 574 have already been purchased by local consumers. The engine failure that was found would generate a resonance on the timing belt tensioner that, if broken, would cause a loss of synchronism in its operation.
The loss of synchronism could cause the engine to suddenly shut off, preventing it from starting again or could cause the vehicle to lose acceleration, and if one of these situations occurs, it could cause an accident with possible physical damage to the occupants and third parties,” the company explained to El Comercio.

The owners of vehicles that match the characteristics described above can call Ford Perú for more information 0800-00804 or write to the email acfordpe@atento.com.ar, in order to confirm if their units are included in the recall.

The Indecopi said that the Directorate of the National Consumer Protection Authority will be vigilant to comply with such actions to ensure that the rights of consumers are respected, in accordance with the Consumer Protection and Defense Code.
