President Martin Vizcarra announced his return to Peru for today after completing state visits in Portugal and Spain.
This was reported by Foreign minister Néstor Popolizio, who accompanied the president in his activities in European countries, El Comercio reported.
“One thing I want to mention is that since the entire agenda has been completed here in Spain, the president, as he pointed out yesterday, will be tomorrow [Friday] in Peru,” he said in a to RPP.
Several parliamentarians had criticized Vizcarra’s absence in the country because they considered that he had to be present in Peru to attend the emergencies caused by the heavy rainfall that has been taking place these past few weeks in Peru.
“On the other hand, minister Néstor Popolizio highlighted that Vizcarra’s visit to Portugal and Spain was successful”, El Comercio said, adding that the relationship with the king of Spain is very good.
“All aspects have been covered, both political and economic, but the most important addition in this state visit to Spain is the cultural presence of Peru through the ARCOmadrid fair, where we have a very important deployment,” he said.
