This year’s Sandboard World Cup will begin on June 3 in Huacachina and continue on June 5 in the Paracas desert with athletes from more than ten different countries.
“We already have more than 10 confirmed countries: Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Cape Verde, Brazil, Chile, Peru and Mexico”, the Sandboard World Cup announced on their website.
This event will allow the modalities Slalom, Big Jump Expression, Slopestyle and Boardercross. “in the same way we are looking for the development of the sand skiing discipline as it has been done with sandboarding”, they expressed.
The Sandboard World Cup is organized by InterSands, who promote the practice of snowboarding and skiing in sand dunes to create a sports and environmental culture for future generations. It takes place every two years and it is considered as the most important event of its kind in the world.
“Thanks to the support of organizations and institutions such as Swiss Federation – Swiss Ski, Swiss Embassy in Peru, International Ski Federation – FIS Bring Children to the Snow among others, we can convey the importance of this sport for future generations”, they said.
