In Peru, the rate of 1 Gb of mobile Internet is $2.48 US dollars, the second-lowest in the entire region, above Uruguay, Argentina and Brazil and only exceeded by Chile, country where the price per gigabyte is $1.87.
“The ranking, developed by the website cable.co.uk based on the compilation and analysis of 6,313 mobile data plans in 230 countries, indicates that globally, Peru ranks 51st”, Perú 21 informed.
It should be noted that in the last four years the average rate of mobile internet per Mb has been reduced by 92%, according to the Supervisory Body of Private Investment in Telecommunications (Osiptel).
In Peru, to date, there are more than 24.5 million cellphone lines with mobile internet service throughout the country, 9% more than the first half of last year.
The original report was made by Cable.co.uk. According to the firm: “Data from 6,313 mobile data plans in 230 countries were gathered and analysed by Cable.co.uk between 23 October and 28 November 2018. The average cost of one gigabyte (1GB) was then calculated and compared to form a worldwide mobile data pricing league table.” You can see the full report and an interactive map on their site.
