Peru’s Chancellery Removes Peru’s Ambassador In Israel

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Peru (MRREE) warned that they will have a policy of “zero tolerance” against the violation of the rights of workers of its dependencies, following the abuses of the ambassador in Israel against his subordinates.

On Sunday evening, two employees of the Peruvian embassy in Israel denounced that they were being mistreated by Fortunato Quesada, the ambassador. With audio recordings from the residence in Tel Aviv, they exposed the verbal violence and the improper way he had been treating his employees.

An investigation of the Panorama program revealed on Sunday, according to information from Sputnik, that Peru’s ambassador to Israel had been subjected to an insulting and humiliating treatment with the staff at the embassy, which included threats of dismissal.

The ambassador addressed the workers with foul language, which was denounced by the employees under his command.

On the night of Sunday 17, Foreign Minister Néstor Popolizio made the decision to separate the ambassador from his post and order his immediate return to Peru to face the corresponding investigation.

Quesada had defended himself saying that he didn’t know that there were complaints about him and that he is only expressing himself using colloquial phrases.

The audio recordings can be listened to in a video posted by La Republica on Sunday.
