The Peruvian cuisine will add flavor to the Pan American Games in Lima, where thousands of athletes can taste quinoa-based dishes and Andean potatoes or fruits of the Amazon.
“The food will keep the highest and strictest standards that are required in international sporting events. We aim at athletes and officials sleeping well and eating very well,” Pan American general director Alberto Valenzuela told AFP, according to Andina News Agency.
More than 800,000 food portions will be served at the games, said Valenzuela. Sodexo will be in charge of distributing 24,000 of them every day to the Pan American sports village.
