The President of the Council of Ministers, César Villanueva, informed last Thursday that work has intensified with the authorities of the regions, forming an alliance to fight against poverty that “fosters regional environments for investment, both public and private,” and that the first results will be seen in six months, wrote El Peruano.
To achieve this purpose, President Martín Vizcarra and the Minister Cabinet will continue to travel weekly to each of the regions of the country to “decentralize decisions” and work in coordination with the district and provincial mayors, as well as with the governors.
During the session of the Council of Ministers held the day before, Villanueva reported that discussed included education, economy, reconstruction, decentralization and fight against corruption.
In terms of reconstruction, he asked the Congress of the Republic to review as a priority the rules related to reconstruction presented in the context of the request for executive powers.
The transfer of another 1,500 million Soles to accelerate the reconstruction process of the areas affected by the El Niño Costero Phenomenon was approved during this meeting.
The Authority for Reconstruction with Changes (ARCC), along with the executing agencies and the Ministry of Economy and Finance, is also working on a proposal to streamline the investment, contracting system, and having other contracting and execution modalities. This is hoped to translate into a faster reconstruction process.
