According to a study called “2018 National Vacation Profile”, Promperú revealed that Peruvian women travel in Peru more than men.

In addition, El Comercio revealed that this study determined that the five favorite destinations in Peru are Lima, Ica, Piura, Cusco and Junín.

“Internal tourism in Peru is closely related to economic and social development because it generates around 1.4 million jobs in different regions of our country”, the minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Edgar Vásquez said to the press.

For his part, the CEO of Promperú, Luis Torres, said that the 2018 National Vacation Profile also highlights that young people are the ones who travel the most. People between the ages of 18 and 40, made up of the groups called centennials and millennials, group 63% of total national travelers, 7 percentage points above what was recorded in 2017.

According to the study, 32% of vacationers travel primarily in groups, either with family or friends, while 24% do so with their direct relatives. On the other hand, women are the ones who travel the most and represent 57% of vacationers.
