According to e-commerce figures, in Peru, 69% of mobile Internet users have made at least one purchase online using their smartphone or tablet in the last 6 months, said OLX Peru to Gestión.
The main motivators of purchase are in 53% of cases, saving time; 33% for convenience and 25% for the best price, informed this website.
In that sense, in the context of Tech Day, the first Technology Fair of Lima, organized by OLX Peru, the peculiarities of the Peruvian consumer profile were shared.
According to figures from OLX Peru, last year, during the months leading up to Peru’s decisive matches in the Russia qualifiers 2018, there was an increase in sales in the electronics category.
Also, OLX Peru said that almost 3 ads are published every minute on their platform. They said that within a year, over 5.3 million advertisements were published. “1.5 million are advertisements for technological articles, which means an approximate of 125 thousand technology announcements per month, 4,167 per day and almost 3 technology announcements published per minute”, they explained to Gestión.
The number of people who searched the categories related to technology, in the range from February 2017 to February 2018, is of 31 million. “It is as if the entire Peruvian population, which according to INEI figures is around 31,468,000 inhabitants, would have searched for a telephone, tablet, or some electronic and video tool.”, OLX said.
But, the most visited category of all is the cellphone category, followed by video electronics and computers or laptops.
