Martín Vizcarra, President of Perú, once again defended his proposal to hold early general elections in 2020.
According to information published in Últimas Noticias, he said that Peru needs for the citizens to choose authorities that really represent them.
This was announced on a recent visit to the city of Iquitos. “The scream I hear is a call for bettering our institutions”, Vizcarra said.
Last July the President presented before Congress a constitutional reform to hold early elections for July 28, 2020, that includes the shortening of the period for Congress and for the President of the country.
