Russia will deliver a helicopter maintenance center and a training facility for pilots to Peru this year, said the director of Russian state arms exporter Rosoboronexport, Alexandr Mijeev.
“We plan to conclude the creation of the technical service and repairs center of La Joya in 2019. All the necessary equipment and documentation has already been supplied to Peru,” he said in a statement, according to Expreso.
In mid-December, Russia inaugurated another major maintenance and repair center for Russian helicopters at the Las Palmas Air Base in Lima. Mijeev added that the construction and equipping of the helicopter pilot training center Mi-171Sh in Lima will also be completed in 2019.
“Peru is the largest importer of Russian helicopters in Latin America·, he added, saying also that cooperation between the two nations is of great interest in the military and civil areas.
