This December you can enjoy the Peruvian movie “Vientos del Sur” (South Winds) where Nina, the protagonist played by Carolina Niño de Guzmán, returns to the family estate property south of Cusco following an emergency call but ends up slowly reconnecting with her roots.
“We all have memories of our childhood days; people and places we left behind. Some return back to that very place where you spent your early years, at least for a while, or maybe forever; who knows”, said a press release.
Directed by Franco García Becerra, the film shows a different Cusco, far from the one tourists get to know, they explained in a note.
You can enjoy the realities of rural Cusco, its people and local traditions, marking a comeback of the Cusqueño film industry after nearly 30 years of absence.
“The Director, Franco García, is a Cusco native as well as most actors, musicians and technicians”, they explained, adding that the movie was produced in Cusco and filmed in the Checacupe district in the southern valley.
Some of this movie’s sponsors were the Ministry of Culture and Cusco companies. It has already participated in several Peruvian film festivals and its Red Carpet Avant Premier will be this December 3 in Cineplanet located at Real Plaza in Cusco.
You can enjoy it in cinemas across the country from December 6.
