While many people love to travel to go to all of the hot touristic places and have a taste of the local gastronomy, others also like to go shopping.
This is why we decided to create a list for you of the top 5 places where you will have the best shopping experience and find the top brands if you are in Lima.
1.Centro Comercial Larcomar
First on our list is Centro Comercial Larcomar. This shopping center is located on the Miraflores coast with amazing views of the ocean and also nice weather for walking around while you check out the stores.
Larcomar turned 20 years old in 2018 and they have more than 100 different brands that offer the latest in fashion, sports, accessories for women, men and children. It is also an option to grab a bite since there are 16 different restaurants that have national and international cuisine.
This mall also has a theater and a gallery for those who love arts and entertainment, which makes it a very visited place by both tourists and Peruvians.
2.Mercado Municipal Gran Mariscal Ramon Castilla
Second on our list is the Mercado Municipal Gran Mariscal Ramon Castilla, also known as Mercado Central that, unlike Larcomar, it is a popular market where you will find not only clothing at great prices but also Peruvian souvenirs to take home.
This market is located close to Lima’s historical center and you can visit it when you decide to do a tour around this part of the city. It connects with the Barrio Chino, the Plaza Italia and the pedestrian walk that goes from jirón Ucayali to the Plaza de Armas.
It was founded 170 years ago by the then President Ramón Castilla and it receives more than 800,000 people daily, which generate an income of $700 – $800 million US dollars in high seasons.
3.Centro Artesanal San Francisco
If you are looking for genuine art from Peru, this is the best place to find it in Lima. You will not find here the most important fashion brands, like in Larcomar, but a more artistic experience instead.
Many tourists say that the prices are very competitive, although you may have to bargain or have a little patient with the salespeople who sometimes insist a little too much for you to buy something from them.
You can find this place on Lampa, Cercado de Lima.
4.Plaza San Miguel
Plaza San Miguel is another mall in Lima where you can find anything you need. From fashion, electronics, sports and beauty stores, to home supplies, and restaurants.
This shopping center was inaugurated in October 1976 and it is located between La Marina and Universitaria avenues of the San Miguel district in Lima. Today, it is one of the most important places to go shopping and it attracts more than 12 million people per year.
Some of the renowned brands you can find here are Tommy Hilfiger, Billabong, Reebok, Adidas, Payless Shoesource, Skechers, Hush Puppies, and many others. And if you are hungry you can stop by at KFC, Pizza Hut, Starbucks, Papa Jhon’s or any other restaurants available.
5.Centro Comercial La Rambla
In Lima you will find two La Rambla malls: La Rambla San Borja, which opened its doors in 2012, and La Rambla Brasil, inaugurated in 2104.
La Rambla offers some of the largest international and national brands (101 in total) for its shoppers as well as great gastronomic options for eating out.
La Rambla San Borja is located on Av. Javier Prado in a very strategic point: very close to the Museo de la Nación, the Teatro Nacional, the Ministerio de la Cultura and one of the stations of the Lima Metro.
La Rambla Brasil is on Av. Brasil 702, Breña.
