Several countries in the world can benefit from the feature Google Maps offers for requesting a taxi service. You can also do so in Peru.
The Google Maps app has agreements with Uber, Cabify, and Beat in Peru, that allow for people to request a taxi right from the application. It also allows comparing prices and waiting times so that the user can choose the one that suits him or her best.
“In Peru, different applications of assigned drivers operate. But only those mentioned above present their services within Google Maps to users of this platform”, explained El Comercio. This is due to an agreement that Google maintains only with certain transport service providers.
If you want to request a transport service using the aforementioned app then all you have to do is log into Google Maps and search for the destination you wish to go to. Once it loads, click on the “Directions” button, which will pop-up a screen that gives the option “Travel”. By clicking on this button you will be able to request a taxi.
“Automatically, Google Maps shows you the providers with whom you work in the area of your location”, said El Comercio.
