A 14-year old teenager, Carla Fermín Jiménez from Peru, won the gold medal in the European women’s Olympiad of mathematics developed in Ukraine.
Carla defeated girls older than her and it is not the first time she thrives in math competitions. Last year she participated in Italy.
Her mother, Luz, told América TV that Carla studies by herself and needs no help. She also said that every time she decides to compete “diplomas and medals multiply at home”.
According to the aforementioned media, Carla has not yet decided what she will study after finishing high school but when she was in the sixth grade of elementary school she was accepted in two universities: San Marcos and Tecnológica del Callao.
