The Government of Peru expressed its solidarity to the people and Government of France for the tragic fire in the cathedral of Notre Dane, in Paris that took place last Monday.
“Peru expresses its deep solidarity and regrets to the French people and government for the tragedy that took place in Notre Dame, a world heritage site,” said Foreign Minister Néstor Popolizio, through his Twitter account, according to Andina News Agency.
A violent fire struck on Monday, around 6:50 pm local time, the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, which is one of the most visited monuments in Europe, causing the collapse of its spire.
This cathedral dates back to the 19th century on one side and to the 13th century on the other. According to its spokesman André Finot, everything was “devoured” by the flames and the structure will be severely affected.
