Yesterday, Peru and France presented the new cocktail “PisCognac Sour” which combines pisco and cognac, two of the most representative distillates in the world.
“The new drink seals the twinning between the cities of Pisco (Peru) and Cognac (France), in order to promote the cultural and tourist exchange between the populations of both places, as well as the exchange of information on the promotion and commercialization of the distillates”, La República explained.
They also said that this link resulted in an official activity that took place in the city of Pisco, attended by Aldo Parodi, commercial economic advisor of the Commercial Office of Peru in Paris (OCEX Paris); Miguel Gourinchas, mayor of Cognac; and Tomás Andía, provincial mayor of Pisco.
“Today we are proud to bring together pisco and cognac, whose origins have in common a distillation of high-quality grapes, but where each one has their own personality,” said Parodi, according to La República.
From this moment on, Pisco has become a “sister city” to Cognac and you will be able to read its name in all of the entrances to the French town.
