Panam Sports (former Odepa) confirmed the presence of the Peruvian tenor Juan Diego Flórez at the inauguration of the Pan-American Games.
Today, the inauguration ceremony of the Lima Games 2019 will take place. It will showcase the country’s culture and, according to El Comercio, “Juan Diego Florez’s presence will make it more national”.
“I am Juan Diego and I will have the honor of singing at the opening ceremony of the Lima 2019 Pan American Games,” the tenor is heard saying in a video posted by the organization, according to the aforementioned website.
Flórez is expected to sing Peru’s national anthem.
