Almost 18 months before the next presidential elections, when almost all politic parties are establishing their candidates and their alliances, Luis Castañeda, current Mayor of Lima, is in
the first place of the voters' preferences, for the second month in a row.
The Mayor of Lima surpasses Keiko Fujimori by 4 points in spontaneous answer (23% vs. 19% ) and by 15 points in anwers with notecards (21% vs. 36%), according to the latest survey conducted by the Institute of Public Opinion (IOP) at the Catholic University, run in Lima between October 1st and October 3rd.
The poll even shows a favorable outcome for Castañeda in case of an eventual runoff voting, where he would win all his rivals.
The poll also shows that Lourdes Flores has risen one point, while Alejandro Toledo and Ollanta Humala dropped one and four points, respectively.
