With the participation of Club Regatas Lima, Yacht Club Ancón and Club Esmeralda Santa María for the first time, the
Windsurf Festival Ancon 2009 was staged in Ancon, a seaside resort.
The event began with a soft wind, good enough for beginners to compete safely and with enthusiasm. From very early in the morning Hermosa Beach began to welcome the participants, friends and relatives for a tournament which priority was the comradarie.
Experienced windsurfers like Andrew Gibbon, Diego Esculies ,and Fran Hemmerde gave free windsurf lessons to the public.
Alessio Botteri from Club Regatas Lima won the Novice Open category, followed by Ismael Muelle (Yacht Club Ancón) and Michelle de Trazegnies (Club Regatas Lima).
In Novice Open Mini category, Ismael Muelle was first this time, defeating Vicenzo Benham (Santa Maria) and Santiago Aguirre (Yatch Club Ancon).
Windsurf Festival Ancon 2009 was organized by The Wind Adventure, Yatch Club Ancon and Peruvian Association of Windsurf, and was sponsored by Redbull, Cosas Magazine and Club Regatas Lima.
