Transit along Central Road
was restored today, despite being still partially blocked at two points between La Oroya and Huancayo due to recent mudslides.
The heavy rains that cause these mudslides are expected to last until next Monday, according to the National Meteorology Service (Senamhi).
"People can use those roads without major problems," said General Enrique Medri, Director of Highway Police.
The maintenance of the road is under the responsibility of the Transports Ministry, pointed out Freddy Sachahuamán Palacios, Regional Director of Transports of Junín.
"The Ministry has not send any help to clear the roads at Chacapalpa and Pachacayo,” complained Sachahuamán.
However, the Chief of Provías at central region, Luis Lecca Vergara, said they had sent to machinery and workers to help on clearing those roads.
