Camisea Consortium paid Peru more than US $56 million in royalties in Feb. 2010

Pluspetrol Perú Corporation, representing the companies that take part in the Camisea Consortium, announced today that royalties paid to the Peruvian state were more than US $56 million in February 2010.
That amount is to be distributed according to current laws, and 50% (US $28 million) will go to Cusco Regional Government and Municipalities.
Pluspetrol also informed that during the first two months of 2010, Camisea royalties reached a total of US $119 million.
According to daily Gestión, Camisea Consortium has paid Peru up to now a grand total of approximately US $ 1.8 billion in royalties, on the production of blocks 56 and 88.
