A group of Misericordia University staff and students is heading to Peru for 10 days this month to aid in several humanitarian projects, working in a hospice center and assisting in the early stages of the Peru Water Project. # Martin says :

All well and good, but it is time that Peru sets as a long term goal not to depend and live off the "charity" of others.

While I agree with the comment of Martin, I am happy to see some humanitarians helping others. It is best to help Peru to become self sufficient. Humanitarian help is also a good thing.
It will help build the character of the students to use their knowledge to help others.
Many young people these days in the EEUU are not appreciative for what they have. It will do them some good to see how others live.

Only Poor Peruvians live in Poverty.
There are many Rich Peruvians who own Houses in Peru as well as Holiday Houses in other countries.
Makes me laugh when westeners think all Peruvians live in a hut.
And yes we also have cars computers & swimming pools .
HAHAHA.

I allways wonder why they spend lots of money to come to Help Peru, when their own citys n local communities need much help. Homeless and illitarcy and lack of heath care in their own EEUU citys but they come thousands of miles to help the Poor in Peru, just does not make sence.

Having volunteered in a nursing home, it is nice that these students are helping less fortunate people in developing nations like Peru.Add your comment
