I wish employees in Peru had this insurance for unemployment.I have received weekly or by-weekly pay checks in the past known as U.C. benefits.If the employer lacks work,lays off employees,or closes the company, you will qualify for the 26 week .It can have a 12 week+ entension added to it.The presiden adds extensions sometimes.You usually need to work 12 weeks at the last employer.Usually you have previous employment going back in the recent quarters of the year.Your claim is good for one year and many people right now depend on this in the U.S.with the slow economy.If in Peru your employer matched your deduction removed weekly from your weekly or monthly income,and paid the insurance carriers fees,you could have such a program too.
