Q'orianka Kilcher coming to Peru to support Bagua's people

The young Hollywood actress Q'orianka Kilcher, who became famous after after her role of Pocahontas in the film “The New World " with Colin Farrell, is arriving in Lima in order to travel to Bagua and see for herself the real situation of the Aguaruna people.

Kilcher, of Peruvian descent, known for her solidarity with indigenous people, has not hesitated to express publicly his annoyance about the recent happenings in Bagua (Peru's Amazonas region).

She even criticized the government of Alan García's government, because of the violence used with the natives.

Q'orianka has recently created -with the support of Amazon Watch- the “Alliance for Indigenous Rights in Peru,” an organization that has the solidarity of other Hollywood stars.

I hope that this lady can assist in some way,by drawing International attention to this bad situation.Land Rights for the natives is important.

However, maybe QK should also realize that policemen are human also.have wives and children who depend on the husband.....it seems that policemen were threatened with execution and thence executed by the natives ,before the Government got stronger with their tactics to restore some kind of peace and control.This was not an appropriate way for the natives to enforce their claims,in my humble opinion....and look what's happening now...violence against violence.
Interestingly, who is stirring up the natives and supplying them with the weapons that were reported on some days ago ??
I hope the Government repeals these land laws very soon (currently under consideration by AG's Prime Minister)and allows more than 55 hectares of jungle/land to be saved !!! Tell the mineral giants to go fish somewhere else.

If she wants to know their "real situation," she doesn't have to come down to Peru.  She can just pass by her local landfill.  That's how these people live, and how they treat the 'precious' jungle.

Violence is torturing PNP officers and then cutting their throats, like the savages did.  The PNP are corrupt and animals, but they didn't deserve to be killed. 

IMO, there hasn't been enough violence against these people from the selva.  They don't comprehend diplomacy and negotiation, only brute force.  Enough is enough, time to take control, Garcia.  Too bad he's spineless.

I agree with David N. We have not shown these jungle savages ENOUGH violence.

Only a few of us have the courage to admit what has to be done. Can you just imagine the United States if we had left these backward savages in peace and not taken their land? No development, no moon landing, no cars and no modern medicine.

We need to rid the Americas of their indigenous people and open up the ancestral lands of these barbarians to PROGRESS AND DEVELOPMENT. Alan Garcia said it perfectly. Just because you are born on this land, doesn't mean it is yours. It belongs to all of US. The selva belongs to all of us in Lima, and its resources will be sold to the United States - and us non-savages will profit greatly in the process. The less indigenous around, the better!

You guys Huns and David ,are you serious? how come you give an opinion without knowing the facts you dont have idea what you are talking about, and I dont answer to you like I should just out of respect for all the nice people who is truly interested in knowing whats hapening in this land wich is a natural reservation and its been that for centuries ,do you know for example that we have cientifics and doctors from all over the world resarching plants that only exist here,looking for the cure of deseases like aids,or that this tansnational companies brive the authorities so they can get: tax cuts, impunity when they dump industrial waste right on the backyard of this poor but brave people, aswell as for not giving benefits to their employes like they should, or do you know that most of the profit of that explotation of tha land will go to the fat pockets,of a rotten police class( o yea they have their own class, they are the criminals with uniform who steal the people's money right in their faces, its a different world ,you see,) and army forces(which are even more curropted and capable of the worst things,they can really challenge your imagination I assure you that), and to less than .5 percent of poblation who have their children in the best schools of usa and europe,( who problably think about the whole thing just like you ) all the while this brave people strugle to make a living in contaminated and even more curropted enviroment, and little if any improving on health system or education or crime control( o yea you dont have idea how crime and violence is gonna escale when companies like that arrive to a poor country because its a different world you know)and you know something else this people dont believe in war,they are happy and pacific people who fought communism  off of  their land facilitating government's victory over a cruel gang of pseudorevolutionaries who terrorized the country for more then 12 years, leaving more then 30,000 dead people. Its really a pitty that you think ,that you know whats progress, I truly hope you are young and still not rising  kids,or you are drunk or high as kite, or you are really really wealthy, because my friends you just made yourselves look really really silly.  As for beautiful Q'orianca ,she is demonstrating one more time that she walks as she talks despite of being young she is giving a magnific example of what developed mind and soul is, and i hope she pulls not only atention into the whole situation but also  that filling of love and belonging to this  planet that 
 all of us have, deep inside. Aswell as the realization that all mankind is one we are all one, and thats the only way we gonna survive here, no war, no trip to the space or nanocomputer its gonna save us if earth and nature want us out of here, only unity  and love for each other can
assure that we as a specie as leaders of all life on earth will survive forever not only in this planet but spreading life as far in to the space as we can get. thank you all of you for reading. I apologize if I have offended anyone.

It is funny to see these Holywood actors trying to promote themselves by protecting "poor" people or "natives" rights, it is just marketing.
I agree with Miko, the jungle is for ALL the Peruvians, not for those who have been born there. I am sorry, "they" support when it is convenient for them drugdealers, or who ever gives them money. I have workrd in the jungle for 3 years, you can hardly find a person who has a notion about "responsability", there are used to pick up some fruits from the trees and they dislike organization, schedules, discipline... Why you think Peru has so many problems? because there is too many people who do not respect laws, who are completely indifferent towards their neighbours and the environment, the natives are also like that.
It is a kind og ridiculous romanticism to "protect" them because they are natives.
They do not give shit for Westerns, if they can cut your throat they will do it, you are NOT like them, they just want money from the stupid gringos and NGOs to continue fucking the whole year and having 10 or 12 children, that they cannot support, perhaps "mother nature" will feed them and will give them medicine. The general gist of things here, I am glad to see, is that we get rid of these so-called natives hogging Lima's resources.

The selva belongs to ALL OF US here in Lima and if the native savages don't like it, well, they are just walking and prostesting themselves into extinction.

These animals murdered 24 innocent police officers who were merely trying to move the savages off the highway, an act which eventually, a few years from now when the FTA is in full swing, will allow US oil companies and loggers easy access into the forests to exploit its resources and offer the surving lazy savages their first ever jobs. What do we get in return for bringing progress and wealth? Our unarmed police are attacked with communist AK-47s supplied by terrorists who hate Peru.

Than the natives take photos of themselves playing dead for the international media who laps it up along with wild stories about police agression.

This is all Humala's doing. Thank you George Bush and Alan Garcia for getting the FTA off the ground. Thank you Alan Garcia for you work in ridding Peru of its cholo sapa inca charapa savages one at a time.

And Liliana, if you are suggesting forced sterilization in the provinces of people of indigenous origin, I, and most of educated Lima, is behind you.

I think even animals know instinctively, that they have to make sure future generations thrive, we have exploited and damaged most of the world by now, we have poluted the water the air and the land, not even the ozone layer is safe, all in the name of progress and  about the last 150 years, while life has existed here on its own, for billions of years,wouldnt be nice to have lived in the moments when humandkind changed their way,to protect our only home? because as far as I know this is the only place we have for future generations, unless i am so ignorant that i dont know,that we have another planet to go when we finish to destroy earth.Ecosystems are very fragile and we as intellegent or ignorant as we could be are in the end just part of life here, are we gonna destroy or protect? how can we live our lives pursuing money and "progress" while we destroy life,I think miko hans and david are just the sad result of brain washing schemmes going on all their lives, only because they were born not indian or native, they think they have the right to neglect the native people rights (who are keepers and owners of the land for milleniums).But what they dont see its that their very own words,prove they are truly stupid haters, with no heart, and empty souls, you better analize how you can mature and, become real men.

Real ignorance is not knowing the traditional corruption in peru's governmet and especially APRA party of thieves and the mother of political corruption in peru, most of profits are gonna be stolen by corrupted authorities, and pollution is garantied, because in our country

These vicious mentalities are but the wee cogs in that global genocide which has all but exterminated indigenous peoples EVERYWHERE. In my work i call this genocide the "Die, Primitive!" syndrome.
