Peru's President, Alan García Pérez
arrived yesterday night in Bariloche, Argentina, accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister, Jose Antonio García Belaunde, and Defense Minister, Rafael Rey, to attend the Extraordinary Union of South American Nations (Unasur).
This summit will analyze the possible regional repercussions of the agreement between the Colombian and US governments. The agreement is supposed to allow 7 US military bases inside Colombian territories. The summit will try to pursue a solution to the regional tensions this agreement is creating.
After the meeting, the Peruvian leader will participate in the summit’s official group photo, and then continue to attend scheduled activities along with their counterparts in the region.
