The Peruvian national soccer team, La Blanquirroja, will once again play a Copa America final 44 years after the last time. “The team led by Ricardo Gareca defeated the Chilean team 3-0 in the semifinals of the tournament”, said Gestión. Now they will face Brazil again on Sunday hoping to become the 2019 champions.

The last time Peru played at a Copa América finals was in October 1975 against Colombia. In this opportunity, they will be facing the five-time world champion and host of the tournament, Brazil, to whom they lost in the groups stage 5-0.

“The Peruvian national team reached this stage after a goalless draw against Venezuela and defeated Bolivia 3-1 in the group stage”, Gestión explained.

The team then qualified to the quarterfinals as one of the best third teams and defeated Uruguay in penalties (5-4).
