Sunscreen to be Distributed at Several Lima Beaches

This initiative seeks to raise awareness among the population about the risks of skin cancer.

The League Against Cancer, announced that it will distribute a total of 50 thousand sunscreen sachets, free of charge, on the beaches of Lima. This initiative seeks to counteract the ultraviolet radiation.
Specialists recommend using a sunscreen of no less than 30 SPF and apply them half an hour before sun exposure and then every 2 hours. In addition, lenses and swimsuits with UV protection, wide-brimmed hats, umbrellas and other implements that should be worn to help protect the skin from aggressive sunrays.
Ultraviolet radiation is at its most intense levels between 10 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon. So people should put on sunscreen especially on the face, neck, arms, legs and exposed areas.
The campaign started Yesterday in Las Sombrillas, a beach in Barranco. The tour is called “Protect yourself from Violet”. On Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 they will visit the beach Los Yuyos and 20, 21, 27 and 28 will do the same on the beach Agua Dulce de Chorrillos. Other beaches that will be visited will be Waikiki, La Punta, and Ancón.
