The CPTPP will grant Peru four new business partners: New Zealand, Brunei, Malaysia, and Vietnam.
The minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Eduardo Ferreyros, said today that Peru is now part of the most important trade agreement of the world: the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
El Peruano informed that Ferreyros participated in Chile in the signing of this agreement, together with the Foreign Trade Ministers of Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore, and Vietnam.
“The CPTPP is the most important commercial agreement in the world and includes 11 of the most significant and dynamic economies in the world. In this way, Peru is positioned strategically in Pacific Asia, integrating, mainly, regional and global value chains.”, the minister said.
With the signing of the CPTPP, Peru will have four new business partners: New Zealand, Brunei, Malaysia, and Vietnam. It will also improve the conditions of access to the markets of those countries where there are already bilateral commercial agreements.
In addition, restrictions for the temporary entry of Peruvian professionals and technicians into these markets will be eliminated, and mechanisms will be established so that Small to Medium Enterprises can take advantage of the opportunities generated by the treaty.
Also, El Peruano confirms that Peru will have preferential access to a market where seven of the partner countries have purchasing power above the world average.
