Only a month away from the expected FIFA Soccer World Cup in Russia, the Peruvian team in the eleventh place, just above Denmark, the country’s first rival on June 16.
According to information from América TV, Germany continues to lead, with a total of 1,544 points. Peru, on the other hand, has 1106 points.
Brazil and Belgium follow Germany with 1384 and 1346 points respectively, after the update published last Thursday. The next update of the ranking will be made public on June 7, a week before the inauguration of the 2018 World Cup.
On the other hand, Peru’s national team captain, Paolo Guerrero, remains banned from attending the championship. This week, President Martín Vizcarra announced his government’s legal support to remove the sanction the forward player received for 14 months and that leaves him out of the World Cup.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will support and monitor the legal defense efforts of Paolo Guerrero before the Federal Court of Switzerland, to annul the 14-month suspension applied against him by the Arbitral Tribunal of Sport.
This year’s soccer FIFA World Cup will start on June 14 and it will be the 6th time Peru has participated. The last time they were part of this international event was 36 years ago.
