We are three years away from celebrating Peru’s anniversary for the bicentennial of its independence and the preparations have already begun.
Two of the elements of this national party, the logo and the song, have already been chosen in a contest directed by the Ministry of Culture and presented to the public.
The winner logo is called “Peru Moves” (El Perú se Mueve) and it’s a creation of Ángela Alberca Caro from Lima.
“Peru hasn’t stopped moving in the last 200 years. Through its gastronomy, sports, culture, and tourism, it has built a country that is proud of its origins, integrated by people that move day by day”, she said.
As for the song, according to information from El Comercio, the winner was a piece titled “Here I am” (Aquí Estoy) from Pedro Rodríguez Chirinos from Arequipa.
“Aquí Estoy is the voice of the new generations, protagonists of our present”, Rodríguez Chirinos said.
The contest for choosing the logo and song for the bicentennial celebrations was promoted by the Ministry of Culture and 225 songs and 386 logos participated. The winner will receive 30,000 Soles each.
