The Young Entrepreneurs Program is an innovative educational proposal that the “La Caixa” Banking Foundation provides to schools interested in implementing in the classroom for entrepreneurs aged 14 to 18. It will soon arrive in Peru.

This program is carried out by the teachers through a digital platform that contains a total of six modules. Each of them consists of two sessions to work on the key concepts of an entrepreneurial project.

“It is a way to learn how to be an entrepreneur in high school that culminates, for the winning teams, in a trip to Silicon Valley, to know at first-hand one of the cradles of innovation”, explained 20 Minutos.

Recently, the president of the foundation, Isidro Fainé, and the president of the FEPCMAC (Peruvian Federation of Municipal Savings and Credit Institutions), Jorge Solis, signed an agreement to promote this program in Peru.

The program will be specifically available for high school education institutes that receive aid from the Savings and Credit Municipal Savings Banks located in rural populations. And its purpose is to promote financial education in these areas to contribute to economic improvement with the generation of new products and services.

The Young Entrepreneurs Program started in 2013, and since then, it has reached more than 3,300 educational centers and 217,460 students from all over Spain. It arrived in Latin America in 2016, and it has already been used by 279 schools and about 1,500 students from Peru, Colombia and Argentina.
