The Minister of Culture, Patricia Balbuena, announced that starting this November 10 the preparations for the celebrations for the bicentennial of Peru’s independence, which seek to position the country before the world.
According to Balbuena, cited by El Peruano, from 2019 to 2021 there will be numerous celebratory activities, which have already begun this year.
“She commented that, for example, the National Folklore Ensemble is touring Colombia, which is part of a State policy to boost the presence of Peru in other countries”, wrote El Peruano. “Also, in these days Peru is the guest of honor of the Book Fair of Santiago de Chile”, they added.
Among other activities that will take place, there are the International Book Fairs of Buenos Aires and Guadalajara in the years 2020 and 2021, respectively, and the Arco Madrid, one of the most important art fairs held in Europe.
“As the Andina News Agency had already announced a few months ago, Peru’s participation in this event as a guest of honor will include the sample of our emblematic works in such emblematic places as the Prado Museum”, said the aforementioned media.
“We want to position Peru in the competitive international art market,” said Minister Balbuena, adding that another objective these activities have is to organize events in our country.
