Alfredo Ferrero from Perú 21 analyzed if Peru’s economy will improve this year since 2018 registered 3.9% in growth.
“We represent 0.3% of the world’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and we are depending on the global environment”, he wrote. “We are a country exposed to the prices of gold, copper, silver, zinc, and we are sensitive to local and international politics”, he continued.
However, in order to keep on growing economically, the country needs to end political corruption and focus on competitiveness, Ferraro believes.
“In 2018, 20 years of growth were achieved; we export $47,709 million US dollars vs. $7,000 million in 2000”, he said.
