With organic bananas and asparagus, producers from Lambayeque and La Libertad will participate in the Expo Perú Norte 2018 Fair that begins today and ends on Sunday in the city of Chiclayo, with the aim of conquering new markets abroad.
Expo Peru North Fair 2018 will be the commercial showcase that four beneficiary associations of the Compensaciones para la Competitividad (Agroideas) program will have to break through in the national and international market, said the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation (Minagri), according to Andina.
“There are four beneficiary associations of Agroideas that will be present at this fair, including two from the La Libertad region dedicated to the production of asparagus: The Compositan Alto de Virú Agricultural Association, and the Association of Agricultural Producers of the Molinos de Cajanleque.”, the news agency reported, adding that on behalf of Lambayeque, the Agricultural Association Agro Impe and the Agricultural Association La Juliana-Olmos will participate as producers of organic bananas.
The fair expects to receive about 40,000 visitors from inside and outside the country. “In addition, it will have the participation of exporters, public institutions, tourism companies, artisans, NGOs, and suppliers.”, Andina informed.
This is the first edition of Expo Perú Norte and it has been organized by the Regional Government of Lambayeque, Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Promperú and Adex.
Also, the event’s organizers expect to receive 45 international buyers who come with the goal to carry out commercial transactions with local entrepreneurs.
Among other activities programmed for this fair are specialized forums, cooking demonstrations, an exhibition of investment projects, and Craft Fair.
