Doctor Elisa Vargas is an historian and anthropologist, professor and former civil servant specialized in Colombian history, domestic policy and international security policy. She earned her PhD from the University of Madrid in 2015 and a MIA through the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University in 2005. She has served in a variety of capacities both in the private and public sectors. Dr. Vargas has published a number of articles related to the wars of Independence in the Viceroyalty of New Granada and the American Revolutionary war.
