Deysi Cori From Peru Became A Four-Time Continental Chess Champion

Peruvian chess player Deysi Cori became a continental champion for the fourth time in the Continental de las Americas tournament that took place in Colombia and involved 32 players from nine countries.

“The 25-year-old chess player won the title corresponding to the eleventh edition of the tournament against Paraguayan Jennifer Perez”, El Comercio informed.

According to the champion “it was an interesting and fairly even tournament”.

“A very closed championship, the level shown was magnificent,” said José Martínez, representative of the Confederation of Chess for America (CCA). He also said that the venue and the date of the next World Cup are yet to be defined.
