The Ecuadorian Peruvian Business Council (CAPECUA), with the support of the Embassy of Ecuador in Peru, will hold the VII Peru-FIPE Integration Forum in Lima, which hopes to bring together more than 150 entrepreneurs from Peru and Ecuador interested in investing in both countries.
“Juan Carlos Durand Grahammer, president of CAPECUA, pointed out that Ecuador has taken a turn in its economic policy in search of foreign investments”, said Gestión on Tuesday.
Durand also said that there are Peruvian companies that have entered Ecuador in a not-so-easy manner, such as Grupo Gloria, which acquired a company for $700 million US dollars, Alicorp, the Breca Group, Custer Corporation, Yanbal, among others.
“For its part, the Ecuadorian investment in Peru can be seen in the financial system, such as Banco Pichincha or Marathon sportswear store”, Gestión explained.
Durand also explained that, without considering oil imports, the trade balance is favorable for Peru.
“If we take away the oil, what we import equals to $300 million US dollars. However, for this year we expect our exports to Ecuador to exceed $800 million,” he said.
